I am aged 62 and am an arts graduate from the Madras university. Retired from a Public Sector Undertaking as a Programmer. Started investing in stock market in small lots and am involved in this game of live wire since 3 years. Apart from trading/investing, I find the MMB and the posts from enormous knowledgeable boarders very very informative, inter-active, interesting, entertaining and lively. Their inputs are so much valuable as they are delivered after so much painstaking analysis which would definitely fellow-boarders.
But sometimes I find some boarders while making adverse comments are bent upon to invite the ire of others with a negative attiude knowing fully well that their views would offend them definitely. While everybody have a right to express their opioion it should be done in such a way that it does not offend others.
I find the game of stocks as very very tough. When the going is tough, only the tough gets going with very good amount of patience and perseverence!

Dear arg s
If we go on the details and results of Sri Ganesha worship, it will be unending. He is a very simple God but powerful. He is Vigneshwarar. Anything, whether small or big, is started after doing a simple puja, that culminates in to success without any problem. Even while we start writing we begin with 'Pillaiyar Suzhi' ie a mark to make His indication.
I was fortunate to have visited Sri Batrinath and also Manasa Village where the Vyasa Guha (cave) is situated. Sri Ganesha is also described in modern parlance as the very first Stenographer, who took dictation from Sri Vyasa on Sri Maha Bharatha.
Another piece of information is that the River Saraswathi which gushes out there near the Bhima Bridge, starts her undergound journey from there and comes out only at the Sangam at Allahabad.
I am very happy to have interacted with you and hope to continue on MMB on various individual boards.
With best wishes,
Sridharan...

Dear arg s
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Anjaneya and Ganesha. The version stated by you regarding Saneeswara's attempted failure to catch Hanuman is also prevelant in our region (South).
You have pointed out the benefits of worshipping these two deities at the very right time particularly of Ganesha during Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations. I just want to share the following clipping from an article regarding Lord Ganesha:
" Besides his benign and joyful demeanour, thre are a host of reasons for Ganesha's overriding popularity in the Hindu pantheon. He is highly user-friendly i.e. devotee friendly. Though there are elaborate rituals and hymns for him too, he does not insist on hard and fast observance. He can be invoked through a fistful of clay or tamarind powder and propitiated easily by a strand of grass (Arukam Pul). At the worst a rap on the sides of your head with the knuckles followed by a few sit-ups (Thoppanam) will do. His omnipresence is not just abstract but also physical and you can find him everywhere in this far flung land; temples, street corners, under trees, on culverts and even in mid-streets. Further has anyone ever come across an angry, tense or pensive Ganapathy? But with Him it is perennial playtime".
During the celebrations of his Chathurthi Festival I wish you and all other well-wishers all the best with HIS benign blessings!
