hi pkjatts,
It is not going to be good for economy neither in the long term nor in the interim period.
At a cost of Rs.15/- plus levels per one kwh, if 15000 MW of power generation is achieved in the next 15 years or so.. it will be 20 times bigger than an Enron. All dsitribution companies and transmission companies in India will bankrupt.
US is planning to spend 90 billion $ for the proposed dump to keep nuclear waste. Can India ever think of such huge expenses when 76 crore Indians are having an income lesser than 2$ per day?
regards

dear Nodik and Gaba,
very good posts... in fact very sensible..
Policy makers have to be very careful while green signalling the usage for fertile lands for industrilization.
I was surprised to know that in one southern state, approximately 2 lakh acres of fertile land has been either identified or acquired for setting up of SEZs.
This is scary infact...population is growing.. cultivatable land is limited.. and out of that limited land , such huge chunks are taken for industrilization...not really a healthy sign.

dear cnu112,
Instead of answering to the questions which i asked you, you have been trying to be sarcastic by saying \\` might be ur correct and intellignet then all our scientists who has supported it\\`.
In fact scientific community seriously opposed the deal. Somehow in the last minute the heads of those R&D bodies said ok for the deal for reasons better known to them.
Pls dont try to divert the topic from one point to another point as it doesnt serve any purpose.
All those scientists and policy makers know about the alternatives.
But it is Manmohan\\`s dogmatism that made India bent on this.

Dr.no,
Neither Pak nor India wants war.But US wants wars throughout the world simply b\\`coz US economy is heavily dependent on defence related commercial activities.
At one hand Lockheed Martin sells F-16 planes to Pak.
At the same time Boeing offers F-18 planes to India.
If both these countries fight.. that will create some jobs in the recession stuck US economy... which in turn will give some respite to the so called financial conglemorates which are in ICU.
Not just India and Pak.. even if it happens anywhere in the world, that would benefit US.. as US is the biggest arms exporter in this Uni-polar world.

dear marketman,
Axon deal adds to the topline... but its effect on the bottomline is very limited atleast in the foreseeable future.
So as far as the bottmline is concerned, hardly can it counter the effect of a US slow down.
However the depreciating Rupee is a definite advantage for Infy in the coming quarters and it can propel the stock to better levels.
As you rightly mentioned downside is very limited in the immediate future.
But from a LT perspective of 3 to 5 years... one has to be very careful with these IT counters.
