400 in near future and that near future will be in years or month. In near term this is good for 200....

marketman,

No doubt that ntpc is a very good stock and a hold. Even without nuclear deal, it is attractive as it is a power stock. We are hungry for power and is in deficit at all these years. It will take years for the nuclear power plants to appear due to political pressure. Since it is a psu unit, even the communists may support if it is to be developed further (not bcoz they want development but becoz a psu can increase their union activities for political reasons). And this is one psu which can meet the requirements in short terms.

The tgt of 400 is achievable in near future, when the conditions become stable.

Technical Analyst, Ashwani Gujral is of the view that NTPC can touch Rs 200. It been moving in a narrow range between Rs 160-170. If one want to be in power and participate in nuke deal kind of issues then probably it is the right way to go....
