The European hospitality group Accor signed up a management contract with real estate group Brigade Enterprises for management and operation of a standalone serviced apartment in Bangalore.



The complex featuring 129 units is named Mercure Homestead Residences and will be coming up in the upmarket area of Koramangala, also nicknamed the Indian ‘Silicon Valley.'


Targeted to open by end 2008, this serviced residence will cater to the business traveler market, particularly people from the IT and biotechnology industries.


Mercure is Accor's largest network on the mid-scale market with a presence in 50 countries with 708 hotels. For Accor, its mid-segment brand Mercure has lot of scope in the Indian market for future expansion.


Accor already operates a Novotel in Hyderabad adjacent to the Hyderabad International Convention Centre which is also managed by Accor and has recently being awarded the National Tourism Award for the best convention venue in India.
