Your ever-witty responses with the slightest tinge of sarcasm that has one guessing, whether you mean it or are being sarcastic are most enjoyable. LOL

Bhavani - did you notice that most people were cribbing when the new format was introduced? But ask for specific feedback and the response is at best lukewarm - I pity the mod, more so because now she does not seem to be of rakshas descent.

New MMB v/s all the old MMBs

A very good morning and may I may butt in while more knowledgeable elders discus serious matters. What I do miss now vis-a-vis a little more than a couple of years ago is the facility to view all replies to a message bunched together at one place. Right now it is quite a burden to sort out and weed all the replies to a query or all the reactions to a statement. Again, I am at aloss to understand why the indication of an unread message in the private message box had to be murdered away.

I am almost computer illiterate and hence at a loss for words to precisely define my quandary. I do hope the MOD is able to understand or that someone else will elaborate, in due course, on what I am endeavoring to say.

And what I find still more irksome is the need to go via the portfolio when logging in. Can one not land in one\\`s home page from the log-in counter?

And finally, I am simply delighted that the MOD is now more a human face than an unapproachable rakshasa figure or unmovable statuette. And it is indeed heartening that the image of the MOD as one out to merely justify that the actions of MOD are always correct is slowly melting away.

The technicals apart the Board is becoming a more congenial place to visit. And talking of necesasary evils, I guess the appearance of verbal abuse against female boarders is some thing that just has to be grinned at. What cannot be cured has to be endured.

Dear MOD,

I think when i registered my ID here way back two years ago the format is good, as a popular opinion you should bring back the old format again ,

PS: By the way why you are not allowing any website links , I have seen in any financial forums the web links are allowed, and it can be very useful if you want to add them to your message.

Regards

Hi boarders,

We have had 3 looks over the years.. 2004 MMB when we first began..
2007 MMB when we evolved a bit and you still loved us..
then the mid-2008 MMB with a web 2.0 look..

We are taking a poll on the old v/s new....We want an actual show of messages in support of or against the new MMB...

Tell us which MMB you loved the most and which feature and why.. also what you hate or like about the current MMB...

We will keep this poll on for a week and will wait for all contributions.. please make sure all of you participate .. everybody's opinion matters...

MMB Moderator sir, some how we are managing with your new format but we are not very comfortable with it
Apart, certain boarders are using filthy language uninterrupted but you have no check on them
to name WBuffetblog,if you go through his message n conversation with RAMGE,you will be shocked to see tht such ppl are freely misusing this forum shamelessly n without caring that certain women are active members too
It is in the fittest of things you redflag them to keep the sactity of this free forum lest more n more members leave it
I am sure you willinitiate remedial measures to keep the learned members on this board...

Hi Oldtimer,

thanks for the feedback ..some very good ideas...

will definatley try and implement these
*Display of original message and replies only to that
*Private inbox folders
*Sent message folder
*Deleting Pvt messages
*A expandable view for about us
*HTML tages in messages (subject to no misuse)
*Preview button
*Hyperlink to other messages
*Blog

Have to also get functional these
*Add/Edit Track list
*Ignore boarder
*Address Book

Some ideas we can't implement
*Moderation of guest / others posts may be done by the recipient as well as the moderator. The recipient can determine if the post was abusive or not
*All posts (including newbies) should be allowed to appear at once without waiting for the mod\\`s approval.

Moderation is the sole and final discretion of the Moderator.. some of the messages are too offensive to keep on the board..Newbies have been restricted because they were being abused like an guest id... Every boarder needs to prove his crediblity to get the auto -publishing rights.

If some sort of an incentive scheme is introduced here in MMB then possibly good boarders may not leave MMB....

MMB has come a long way since we first started off all thanks to our dedicated boarder community. The board has flourished and grown only because of our boarders and thier informative exchanges. But along the way we have lost many boarders to heated arguements, misunderstandings and false accusations...

Boarders if you are reading please come back.. the board is not as exciting as before without you guys ...Venugopalg, Sam99, Mutilite, Harminder, rawstoc, sean, premrao, equitysurgeon, sainik, chest50arms20 and all the other old timers - we miss you on the MMB, the boarders miss you, the MMB team misses you.

Here appealing to all of you to be back in action as soon as possible.

p.s: this doesn't only apply to these boaders - but to all boarders we value.

Dear Nadhiji,

I wish I get into better state mind..
All I need is a little bit of boost a little recognition for what I do.. For the past 12 months, I have tried all the options..taken[invited] utmost risks but nothing went rewarded..
I have nothing left to try out..even to do MBA i need 20 lakhs...very costly world.
Am preparing myself for learning another lesson this life is going to teach...lol.it has aplently to teach

Daer karthik,

If you feel so , try to stay away from market for some time. Never lose your confidence. I had been in what others called as hopeless situations taht too for decades and nobody imagined a situation where I am now. Just my self confidence did the miracle. Wavering thoughts are the worst enemy. Go for the MBA. You are young and have lot of time. Forget wealth creation or a home now. Just concentrate on building a strong foundation for your career. My suggestion will be to take a break from actively trading.
Invest in good stocks and forget everything else. An investor always earns more than a trader. Enjoy the life and without that what ever you earn is a waste. Take a pledge that you will be happy what ever happens. Feel the difference.

With best wishes

Dear Nadhiji,

Going forward I dont have any reason why I should continue with the markets. Infact i am at the lowest ebb of my confidence as I feel that i am not keeping pace with this madly growing cost of living.. I am torn between wavering thoughts...whether to do MBA..whether to concentrate in the current job..whether to buy a home or not..if yes how can i manage to churn out money for that...What ever I do wealth creation seems to be a dream waiting for some miracle to happen..
too many thoughts leaving too many worries. Am jus a restless soul now a days...Feeling too tired..

Warm Regards

Dear karthik,

May be a tigeress. by the way, I dont expect our market to stabilise in the near future. It will continue to be erratic. DOW and Hang seng will have no impact. The game played here is different.
I will have nothing to do now but to keep idle.

Dear karthik,

It seems that RBI is allowing the rupee to depreciate. Why it does so is known only to them. Defenitely something fishy there. I am almost inactive as far as the market is concerned. I dont even look up at the market movements now a days. The next few months will continue to be erratic. Tread and trade carefully.
