Hi Radhika,
Dow opened 175pts up but gradually melted all its gains. Its not behaving bullish as you thought. Is there any indicator saying bullish in your excel.I have not tracked the excel very minutely so cannot say if any indicator telling so.

Dear Googol(0306),

Sounds very interesting.. Yeah, i have read some of his messages before. The problem with those cheap options are the brokerages.. 50% of the gains are eaten by the brokerages..If it breaks out even once a year, its great anyway for that.

We are looking at some straddles and benefit from the volatility. It almost worked this month. We should refine further to see whats the right price for the straddles and probably play around with a bit of direction as well..

Keep sending your suggestions.

Cheers

Daybefore i thought the TRIN fooled me by being consistently oversold with a huge huge negative divergence and i thought i made a big mistake buying PUTS but now seems like i might be able to square off at least without a loss... why did dow bleed ystday.. why is it sluggish today.. and i hear some news on NSG: apparently US will not include those clauses but is afraid of saying it loud for fear that Manmohan's govt may topple??... whats the latest on NUKE DEAL? Was busy since morning.. let me check my excel with ystday close for dow and our nifty..hey guys any updates?

dear aru,

a suggestion, do not try to enter into nifty strike positions ending with 50 like 4350 , 4450 , 4550 etc as the volumes traded in those will be very less compared to the 4300, 4400, 4500 strike positions. this is my opinion plz confirm urself too

thanks

Dear Eshers,

I have only one naked sell Call position 4450 CE, but i wanted to enter Naked BUY PUTs if we gap up tomorrow, and one more OTM naked sell 4700 CE, If we gap down Then thought of entering 4600 straddle..

what positions you have ? what is your view point?

Dear Aru,

By selling options your gains are very limited but you carry a huge risk. You need to wait most of the time till expiry to reap any benefits. Since you have a naked 4450 call, i think its fine to go for a 4600 if its gap-down or 4700 straddle, as it could give you some extra cushion in case the market goes up.. Dont take too many positions as it will be difficult to follow..

Cheers...

Dear Aru,

I think considering some volatility we had in the last 10 days or so, am not sure if straddles could help unless you take a view-based straddle like 4600 if its gap down or 4700 and the market does go down..

What positions do you have now ??

Cheers

Dear eshers ,

since we have more trading days i thought of using the long straddles, I think if we gap down tomorrow I will use the 4600 starddle,

what about the PUT backspread technique,? SELL 4600 PUT and BUY two PUTS of 4400 , Do you think we can go below 4300 in this series ?

Regards

Aru

Dear Aru,

I feel 4600 straddle is a bit tricky at this point of time.. I would probably start buying puts as of now.. If you are really interested in a straddle, i would buy 4700 straddle, so that i dont lose on the upside and i think the money could be made more from the downside.. If the market gaps down tomorrow , you could consider 4600 too.

Cheers
