One way for a company to become publicly traded, by acquiring a public company and then installing its own management team and renaming the acquired company.

Market value added (MVA) :

MVA. The difference between the market value of a firm and the capital contributed by investors. A higher MVA indicates that a company has added more value than what has been contributed to it by shareholders, while a negative MVA indicates that the company has destroyed value.

RN,

Am seriously considering of using SGX especially considering it starts early and over-shoots most of the day.. There is a bit of the problem with Margin requirements with SGX and also options are not available i guess.. But am seriously looking to see how i could trade in SGX and also in DOW :-)..

I use MOST for trading..

Cheers

Vam,

Dow follows technicals
75% of the times.

Our index 45% of the time.

I am certain coz i have been following dow for one year now.....

Even DOW don't follow technicals, In USA they face a acute bank problems through Mortgages, Subprime etc, and with the manipulated data Dow will be up 300 point one day, lose 200 point one day, and then flat for 2 days, then 300 minus the other day.

Till the subprime and banking problems solved even DOW can not follow technicals.

What do you say about technicals because we have a NSG Waiver news for monday, but your excel surely show Bearish....so it's the news events make a different paths for market, and become technical for future... you can beleive in TA for 30 to 35 % only rest you have to leave it to crowd sentiment and news flows.

Ramki,

Ur dad has 10 crores in equities... he is a big man for sure.... how ofen does he shuffle his portfolio? What are the sectors he concentrates on.... its his own NETWORTH of 10 crore or is it his private company's networth? Does he watch CNBC, NDTV Profits.. does he read the pink paper , economic times, business standard... does he watch the market everyday... what does he say about warren? Why then ur sis asked me for trading techniques when ur father is such a guru himself... curious.....

Hey radhika......My monthly average maximum expenses will not be more than 10000.......So,I don't need income of 1 lac per month.....It's only 1 lac per annum.......Moreover to receive dividend of 1 lac per month I need a minimum portfolio of 1 crore and above which I don't have though my father's portfolio is more than Rs.10 crores which I don't want to depend.........Thanks&Regards

Expect gap down opening: Gujral

We will have a gap down opening today on account of weak cues from US and Asian market. Support for Nifty is 4350-4380, while resistance is 4500-4550.

1 crore portfolio can not give 12 lakhs per annum , I agree........

dear Ramki, 1 lakh per month dividend on 1 cr portfolio that means 12 lakh per annum, that mean 12 % yield. which company gives 12 % dividend yield ?? pls share some list so that other investors including me can also gain from your experience.

Eshers,

Me too want to trade dow... for traders Indian stockmarkets is a bad option coz technicals are not followed perfectly here... see ystday i said dow whatever lows it will rally coz TRIN was overbought and from a fall of 130 points it rallied up 32 points.. so in all a rally of 160 points.. the TRIN said it all and dow played it.. of course it does have its moods but that is rare like daybefore when dow dint show such weakness technically it fell, but these moods are few and far between.. i seriously have to switch to us markets if i am going to be a trader... this market does not follow TA even 60% of the times.
