Dear Mahesh:

Jokes apart, there are several aspects to this. If one blindly remains stubbornly entrenched to her initial views, then she is termed adamant and non-receptive of additional information. If she is dynamic and makes midterm corrections as new information is assimilated she is labelled as being inconsistent.

In the hospital ER, for example, the initial analysis was that both my legs would have to be amputated off. Two days later the same panel of medical specialists said that both legs could be salvaged. We did not hold them guilty of anything when they revised their analysis and anticipations looking forward.

On the other hand, none of the market analysts in the public arena are out there to do social service or any voluntary distribution of largesse. They are paid by someone and that someone expects them to further their cause.

Much like the advisors from the legal profession; incopurt they are not out to help the judge figure out the truth; their allegiance is to the client who is paying him. The attorney merely puts forth the points that will be beneficial to his clients.

This is the natural way of all advisors with a paymaster playing them as his puppets.

Nothing to be surprised about it.

Very simple...
Chidu understands only English and Tamil... Fatwa was given in Urdu...
I have another doubt, whether Chidu is aware of Vande Mataram.... Ha...ha...ha...ha...ROFL...

Dear All,
It is highly important for all of us to understand that the predictions - be it by the so called experts or by anyone is irrelevant. As Warren Buffet says - Look at the fundamentals of the comapny, its capability and use any drop in its price as buying opportunity. I have read many messages where our friends have written buying ABAN at 1630 levels and were expecting 2000 levels. When it fell to 1100 levels, everyone has started talking of selling. Nothing has changed fundamentally in 10 days. Well, the big players do take money off the table at high levels and reenter at lower levels. But we guys must have clear targets in mind. What is the difference in ABAN between yesterday and today? Or for that matter what is the difference in Indian MKT as such between yesterday and today? It falls by 500 points yesterday and shoots up 500 points by today. All the experts who were talking of further fall have started talking resilience of Indian MKT. Very strange. Let us have faith and clear target in mind.

The following article Published in a Newsweek edition was received by E-Mail.For the information of those interested:____

===*We Are All Hindus Now*
===*By Lisa Miller | NEWSWEEK * Aug 15, 2009
==America is not a Christian nation. We are, it is true, a nation founded by Christians, and according to a 2008 survey, 76 percent of us continue to identify as Christian (still, that`s the lowest percentage inAmerican
history). Of course, we are not a Hindu—or Muslim, or Jewish, or
Wiccan—nation, either. A million-plus Hindus live in the United States,a
fraction of the billion who live on Earth. But recent poll data show that conceptually, at least, we are slowly becoming more like Hindus and less like traditional Christians in the ways we think about God, our selves, each other, and eternity.
The Rig Veda, the most ancient Hindu scripture, says this: `Truth is One, but the sages speak of it by many names.` A Hindu believes there are many paths to God. None is better than any other; all are equal. The most traditional, conservative Christians have not been taught to think like this. They learn in Sunday school that their religion is true, and others are false. Jesus said, `I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.`
Americans are no longer buying it. According to a 2008 Pew Forum survey, 65 percent of us believe that `many religions can lead to eternal
life`—including 37 percent of white evangelicals, the group most likely to believe that salvation is theirs alone. Also, the number of people who seek spiritual truth outside church is growing. Thirty percent of Americans call themselves `spiritual, not religious,` according to a 2009 NEWSWEEK Poll, up from 24 percent in 2005. Stephen Prothero, religion professor at Boston University, has long framed the American propensity for `the divine-deli-cafeteria religion` as `very much in the spirit of Hinduism. You`re not picking and choosing from different religions, because they`re all the same,` he says. `It isn`t about orthodoxy. It`s about whatever works. If going to yoga works, great—and if going to Catholic mass works, great. And if going to Catholic mass plus the yoga plus the Buddhist retreat works, that`s great, too.`
Then there`s the question of what happens when you die. Christians
traditionally believe that bodies and souls are sacred, that together they comprise the `self,` and that at the end of time they will be reunited in the Resurrection. You need both, in other words, and you need them forever. Hindus believe no such thing. At death, the body burns on a pyre, while the spirit—where identity resides—escapes. In reincarnation, central to Hinduism, selves come back to earth again and again in different bodies. So here is another way in which Americans are becoming more Hindu: 24 percent of Americans say they believe in reincarnation, according to a 2008 Harris poll. So agnostic are we about the ultimate fates of our bodies that we`re burning them—like Hindus—after death. More than a third of Americans now choose cremation, according to the Cremation Association of North America,
up from 6 percent in 1975. `I do think the more spiritual role of religion tends to deemphasize some of the more starkly literal interpretations of the Resurrection,` agrees Diana Eck, professor of comparative religion at Harvard. So let us all say `om.`

nothing in connection with message- i was search for bhavani message- could not locate

so i am putting it here to those who can appreciate the posting

An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Bhagavad Gita. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! Why do you read the Gita ? What good does reading the Bhagavad Gita do?

I try to read the Bhagavad Gita just like you but I don`t understand it and what I do understand, I forget as soon as I close the book."

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You`ll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, "I don`t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You`re just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it`s useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different.

It was transformed from a dirty old coal basket, to a new clean basket, inside and out.

"Son, that`s what happens when you read the Bhagavad Gita. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out.

That is the work of Krishna in our lives: the cleansing process."

There is pleasure sure in being mad, which none but madmen know.
-Dryden-

I am too young to be 50 !
Isn`t “that “supposed to “feel” old?
Its taken me years to look this good!
I am content with my reflection.
Images are usually misconceptions??
Humor me…
Allow me good old Narcissistic perception !!

If I had one wish.
I` would visit my younger days,
And tell the younger me
It all works out Okay.
Being innovative in a copycat world
Eventually pays…

Thank you God, I do feel blessed.
You have done so much for my happiness
As I look around ,I can see
The people with whom I wanted to be.
You stage managed it .. just. for me.

It aint over yet
So much more to do
So many more Memories
To make, cherish, and keep,
No end to my desires
I`ve gathered up a heap!

I wanna romance Clooney.
Serenade Daniel Craig.
Sweep Bret Lee for a six!
Dreams are free, even at Fifty
Find the truth out there with Duchovny
My shortcuts to the big fix!!

Marrying age with grace ,is my plan.
Abandoning my ego.
Accepting my fallacies,
Unfettering my mind of false illusions.
Living loving and laughing for today
Coz tomorrow is another day..

I admit I let go often from a position of advantage.
I accept I am impatient
I have selective hearing,…that apart
I am blind without my glasses
Makes no difference really
Coz I see with my heart :)

I need to chk my temper
Doc says its bad for my blood pressure.
I have looked death in the face so often,
She is a friend , Her lessons I treasure

I wish I could dust off my cynical wit
I wish I could have again the wisdom of a child
Scream for an ice cream, play hide and seek
With child like dignity,
Free yet wild.

There is a lot I would change
If I could live these fifty again
Lol .. but that’s another story my friend
And I guess this tightness in my throat
Of bitter sweet regrets,
Of lessons learned and rules bent
Pale when compared to the sheer pleasure
Of a life well spent.

So let it be told...
I` ve been the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.

Don`t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you`re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don`t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don`t give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you`re hardest hit--
It`s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Here comes the super predictions of mine hitting bulls-eye in the Lok Sabha Plls, not the Stock Markets. Apart from lifaylon, I did not see any others making a daring statement about the chances of UPA returning to power. Given below is a copy/paste of my predictions:-

-----Congress will be the single largest party and together with allies will just run short of the magic number 272.

Congress- 168-185
UPA allies- 80-88
Total UPA – 248-272

BJP – 110-120
NDA allies – 48-58
Total NDA – 158-175

3rd Front – 101-112

Others 9-11-----

You can compare with the actual results.

A saint asked his disciples, `Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?`

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, `Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.`

`But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you?` asked the saint. `Isn`t it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when you`re angry?`

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint.

Finally he explained, `When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.`

Then the saint asked, `What happens when two people fall in love? They don`t shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small...`

The saint continued, `When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that`s all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.`

MORAL: When you argue do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other

Dear Moderator
Thanks for your new set of guide lines to esthablish the decorum of the board.
I wish to know what the steps the MMB is going to initiate so as to curb the following
1. Insider trading and manipulation of stock prices by the management
2. Non disclosure of key events that will affect the interest of the investors
3. Giving out false and fictitious news which directly affects the value of the stock.
4. Non disclosure of where abouts of the reserves held by the company-
Hope you can do some yeomen service in protecting the boarder community.
Also the term confidential and classified is very vague. for example if one of the promotor is planning to run away with cash and if one of the boarder wish to reveal in the board- though it amounts to insider information but the information will be a whistle blower for the trading community to protect their interest.

Please correct me if i am wrong any where. After all pencils have erasers to correct our mistakes
